dusty pink pastel dresses for bridesmaid

5 years ago, I graduated from Beauty school. If you’ve been through Beauty school, you would know that saying you graduated was a feat of itself, and that you actually should say cosmetology school, but my love for steel magnolias runs deep. Here’s the thing about being a hairstylist, it’s not easy. You don’t know shear panic until you put an intense red on @hillary1890 ‘s newgrowth when it was supposed to be a brown red, but someone put the wrong tube back in the box. Lesson learned, always check the tube. Or that one time @jeslynlibrarian wanted silver, but wanted a deeper tone, so you added blue and all of a sudden she had teal mermaid hair. Lesson learned, blue will always grab first. Or the time that you were at your wedding dress fitting and @richinalove was secretly trying to get married and you busted her because that definitely wasn’t a prom dress. Lesson learned, your hairstylist will find out about EVERYTHING. dusty pink pastel dresses for bridesmaid

I wish I had more photos of me doing root touch ups, the million foil marathons, the blowdrys. Because that’s my everyday life, my clients. I love hearing about their families, the excitement of a new grandchild, a wedding, a family vacation coming. I hope that my clients know that I always go home and tell my husband about y’alls stories, and that somedays you just pop in my mind and I wonder how “such and such situation” went.

I’ve spent many of days with brides witnessing the most precious of moments. You see, I’m the lucky vendor. I spend almost more time with the bridal party than anyone else. We get to laugh, you get to vent to me about which bridesmaid is actually driving you up the wall. You think you’re offending me when you tell me your hair needs another curl, or another pin, but you’re not, because that’s my job. I can’t tell you how many veils I’ve put in and have the mom pose for the photo because she’s afraid to mess up the hair. I’ve helped countless bridesmaids into dresses, mothers of the bride too. Hell, I did my job on my own wedding day because I didn’t know how to spend wedding days any different.

The point is, 5 years has gone by so fast. Every back ache, shoulder pain, and swollen feet is 100% worth it.
